Ghizer district is known as The Land of Martyrs in Gilgit Baltistan. In Kargil War Havaldar Lalik Jan Shaheed got the Nishan-e-Haider and many more soldiers from NLI served the country of Pakistan with their lives.
District Ghizer is ignored yet according to development by Provincial Government of Gilgit Baltistan. The access from Gilit to Chitral is very hard due the rough condition of road. Also the road to Ishkoman and Emit is in very bad condition. Therefore the land of martyrs has been undiscovered by tourists yet.
The area has enormous natural treasures, the meadows, lush green fields, lakes, waterfalls, beautiful villages, and historical places between Himalaya and Hindukush mountains are like small hill heaven on earth. The fresh water of lakes and trout is the best in GB. Shandur polo ground the highest play ground is one the attraction points of Ghizer.
The KKH (karakoram Highway), heading from Rawalpindi/Islamabad to Khunjerab (Sost Border) passing through the beautiful Hunza Valley is constructed under CPEC project is not so well too. The maintenance is not good. Therefore the road gets dumps/bumps in just one year. So the area need special development projects from Government and NGO side. So that the natural beauty of Ghizer will be discovered and appreciated by Tourists from around the globe.
